The late Abū ʿUways (raḥimahullāh), in approximately 2003, discusses those who speak against their local salafī masjid/centre. In a follow up to this benefit, he discusses those who insist on the need for new masjids in their communities (for a variety of reasons/excuses), which is often a means of disunity and splitting. Nowadays, rather than focus on the communal benefit of togetherness, some are entirely focused on legitimising the need for new centres or new leadership. The origin is to work together, to aid, to build, not to separate and start anew.
